Upcoming Elections

On Thursday 4 May 2017, there will be Cumbria County Council Elections. Two Carlisle City Council By-Elections will also be held in Belle Vue and Yewdale wards

The City Council has 52 Councillors. Each Councillor serves one of 22 wards.

Two By-Elections will be held in Belle Vue and Yewdale awards on Thursday 4 May 2017. One seat will contested in each ward.

Elections were held in Heads Nook, Hayton Parish in 2016. The results are available here.    

A referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union was held on Thursday 23 June 2016.

The PCC’s role is to act as the public’s voice on how policing is carried out in Cumbria. They will also be responsible for setting the force’s budget and deciding what its priorities and strategy should be.
