Pay your bill online - with a debit or credit card, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

 Please note: There is a 2% charge when making payments using credit cards.

Telephone

You can pay your bill by credit or debit card by using our 24 hour automated telephone payment system on 0300 456 2231.

Post Office and Paypoint

You can pay your bill by cash, debit card or credit card at any Post Office or by cash at any Paypoint outlet nationwide. You will need a bill with a barcode on it to pay. If you already have one of these simply take it along and make the payment.

Direct Debit

Setting up a Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your Council Tax or Business Rates bill.

What you need to make a payment

•Payment Type: For example Council Tax or Business Rates.

 

•Reference: Refer to the list below for a list of reference types.

•Amount to pay: Enter the amount in pounds and pence so £10 would be entered as 10.00

•Name and Address: You will need to enter the Name and Address of the cardholder of the Credit/Debit card you wish to pay with.

•Card Details: The council accepts most common card types, if your card does not have a start date or an issue number you can leave them blank.

•3D-Secure: Your card needs to be registered for 3D-Secure (Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode). If you are not enrolled you will be given the opportunity to join the scheme.

 

You can pay for more than one item using a single card transaction. After entering each item, press Add to List, then select a new Payment Type or a new Reference and Amount. When you press Pay, you will make a single card payment for the total of all the items.
