Carlisle residents have until midnight on Monday 22 May 2017 to register to vote in time for the General Election (Thursday 8 June).

Householders who may have recently moved to the city or who have moved residency are being urged to contact the City Council’s Electoral Registration section before the deadline or miss out on their chance to vote.

Anyone who has been missed off the Register or recently changed address can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or can apply by telephoning Carlisle City Council on 01228 817555 or 817556 or by emailing elections@carlisle.gov.uk

The deadline for new postal vote applications or changes to existing Postal or Proxy applications is 5pm on Tuesday 23 May. A link to the application form is: http://www.carlisle.gov.uk/Portals/0/Documents/Business/Licencing/ES_application_to_vote_by_post.pdf

Electors can also submit new applications to vote by proxy. These applications must be submitted by no later than 5pm on Wednesday 31 May. A link to the application form is: http://www.carlisle.gov.uk/Portals/0/Documents/Business/Licencing/ES_Application_to_Vote_by_Proxy.pdf
